April weather brought us a truly diverse mix, from sunny rays to showers and persistent rain, yet our training weekend was full of activity. We tested our four-legged partners in rubble simulators across three teams, methodically advancing our skills. The unpredictable weather presented several challenges in the form of sudden changes, providing an excellent opportunity to train adaptability and working in various conditions. Cadaver training, a cornerstone exercise for any serious rescue dog, was also included.
In the evening, a passionate discussion took place regarding a potential new uniform. Everyone contributed their experiences with different brands and the quality of their materials. Thanks to Pavla and Petr for bringing samples, allowing us to form a more comprehensive idea.
Among the new candidates, we welcomed Pavel Trávníček with his Australian Shepherd puppy, who immediately integrated and is already mastering playful runs into rubble of any material.
In the warmth by the stove, we celebrated the "25th birthday" of our long-time member and sports champion Hedvika Češková, without whom we can't imagine K9R.
In addition to working with our dogs, we managed to maintain the facility. Thanks to the excellent work of all involved, we mowed the grass, swept the blown-in leaves from the coal shed and indoor obedience area, cut and stacked firewood, and began spring cleaning in the main clubhouse, which we will continue in the next camp.
It's wonderful to witness the unifying team spirit and the cheerful mood that accompanied us throughout the weekend. Finally, we must not overlook the beautiful sponsorship gift from SpokojenyPes.cz s.r.o. in the form of thematically blue leashes for each K9 Rescue member. Once again, thank you, and we are incorporating the blue leash into our uniform.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed their energy and enthusiasm! We look forward to our next meeting and to growing together and enhancing our skills.
