After a major generational change, our young dogs urgently need new environments to gain experience. Nature is relentless, and despite the newly created fourth rubble training area, vegetation had already grown through various gaps up to a full meter. So, on Friday, we rolled up our sleeves, put on gloves, and tackled the overgrown rubble.

There are moments that inevitably bring back vivid memories of the heartbreakingly short lives of our dogs. Moments that definitively close chapters of extraordinary lives—final moments spent with beings whose actions have forever and irreplaceably engraved them into our hearts. I know that after thirteen years of deep symbiosis, saying goodbye to our canine partners is immensely painful.

At the end of June, our two representatives went to compete at the Slovak National Championship – Cassovia Rescue Cup. Petra Prokešová with Shelby not only managed to revalidate their certification, but also scored a remarkable 184 points in the most difficult rubble search test and 75 points in obedience. On Monday morning, the news reported that a mother of two from Tábor was missing after leaving a farewell letter. That afternoon, the family of the missing woman contacted us asking for help. The K9 Rescue CZ emergency unit dog handlers were immediately alerted. In cases like this, where time and scale are crucial, we also reached out to fellow colleagues and friends from other clubs.

The second weekend of June was all about training, teamwork, and thorough preparation for the upcoming competition – the World Championship.On Friday, right after arriving, we got straight to work – a brief meeting, task assignments, and then a night training session in the rubble.
