Frosty Training Camp

In freezing weather (almost 15 degrees below zero) and a proper blizzard, we gathered on Saturday morning for the first training camp of the year. We fired up the stove and headed straight into the rubble 🙂It’s great that we also have covered rubble training areas, because working in debris with a 20 cm snow cover wouldn’t be ideal.
For young dogs, it is still important to reinforce indication; during the morning training we strengthened motivation and introduced different surfaces.
After lunch, we assembled the donated tables in the clubhouse, and at 3 p.m. the annual general meeting began.
Naturally, the organization of the IRO World Championship 2025 took up the most space when evaluating the past year, and the club chairman Daniel Sedlák first expressed his thanks and presented small gifts to the entire team for their excellent work and tremendous dedication.
Further recognition was given to the heads of individual sections: Martina Vaňková (obedience), Kristýna Sedláková (rubble), Alena Vrátná (area search), Jaroslav Sedlák (tracking), Petr Prokeš (canteen), Petr Bohuslav and Pavel Trávníček (technical department), Silva Hájková (administration), and Petr Jaroš (web), who professionally managed their areas throughout the championship, always handling all tasks and needs willingly, with a high level of professionalism and a smile.
Finally, special recognition was given to Martina Vaňková, Kristýna Sedláková, Petr Prokeš, Petr Bohuslav, Jirka Janota, Jirka Hroch, and Michal Svoboda, who helped beyond all training camps, spending many hours on preparations, whether at home or at the Londonka base.
After reports from the individual officials, the awards followed:
Dog of the Year 2025:Smart Blue Storm Bohemia Patrix & Petra Prokešová
Most Improved Dog 2025:Artemis Sassy Paws & Vendy Kopecká
Best Junior 2025:Marie Hájková and Goofy of Blanche star alias Bailey
K9R Championship (November) – 1st Place:Artemis Sassy Paws & Vendy Kopecká
Honorary Recognition for 10 Years of Service:Smart Blue Storm Bohemia Patrix & Petra Prokešová
The closing speech was again given by the chairman:“I would wish for our K9 unit to be filled only with good mood, joy from the work done, and enthusiasm for training. As I have written and said in several interviews: ‘We have a beautiful facility, excellent dogs, and the rest depends only on us—what kind of team we create.’ Let’s appreciate what we have.”
And to conclude… all the best for the New Year, lots of health to all of us and our four-legged partners—and may the barking never stop 🙂
