Thanks to the public holiday, we were able to kick off our regular training camp on Thursday evening. This weekend, two of our experienced handlers will represent our club in the qualification trial for the IRO World Championship 2025 — Tomáš Lukš & Annie (rubble search) and Petr Prokeš & Lex (area search). Good luck, guys, and may the barking be with you!

Another working weekend is behind us.

During the last weekend of March, we held a training camp that combined the useful with the essential – hard work and intensive training.

In the book Brother Dog, it is written:"On the last Sunday of March 1965, at 12:35 p.m. local time, the ground shook across a vast area of Chile, and within just 87 seconds, the town of El Cobre ceased to exist.

Rubble Training Trip:

After a week of severe frost, the water supply in the area froze completely. To make matters worse, due to the low temperatures, the freshly repaired walls wouldn’t dry properly. As a result, Rebelka became uninhabitable.

As you start the year, so shall it continue.We kicked off the New Year the best way we know how – by training with our four-legged teammates. Since our training center was covered in ice and snow, we were grateful to retreat into the vast indoor rubble areas that our halls provide.

At the last weekend training camp of the year, we had planned the K9 Championship with the RH TV exam – mainly for the largest (and youngest) part of our team. Our group is now nicely divided into senior veterans, year-and-a-half-old “youth,” and brand-new babies.

The orthodox exoticism from childhood dreams often becomes a fulfilled reality only much later in adult life. Yet the most important fact remains: it does come true. Harsh, demanding, uncompromising – yet absolutely unique, the atmosphere of expedition travel through the Raja Ampat region is now forever etched into the minds of the participants, as they explore perhaps the last surviving earthly paradises.

The November training camp was made even more special with a visit from our members' children, including the youngest – just a few months old, Eliška! Since we had Londonka all to ourselves, all the teams dove into the rubble and continued their training with scent work.

The colorful fantasy of Indian summer, slowly transitioning into autumn, stuns its admirers with an endless spectrum of beauty. The azure sky, overflowing with sunlight, crowned the past beautiful weekend, which was extended by the Czech statehood holiday. The roar of the uncoronated king of the South Bohemian forests – the European elk – is slowly quieting, and the voice of the following rut of the fallow deer is already heard.

The training camp was crowned by an unusual experience—a flight over the town of Soběslav in an “Andula” aircraft, together with our four-legged partners.

Every approaching autumn signifies the first annual evaluations. With the commencement of their initial exams, novice rescue dog handlers reflect on their early efforts and enthusiasm.

One can only marvel, but the fact remains that in recent times, the canine world is undeniably dominated by the female element. This is certainly not a disadvantage, but where are the men who not long ago filled the training grounds? Were they forced by circumstances to merely earn money, or are they lazily lounging in restaurants? That this is not a purely Czech phenomenon is evidenced by foreign groups alternating at Londonka. On September 7, 2024, we presented a demonstration of our rescue dog training at the largest activity festival for children and youth – Wannado Festival – Sporťáček.

Great news from the “battle” in Finland! Our representative Petr Prokeš scored 73 points in obedience and found all persons in the search area (forest search) for 160 points at the World Championship. He met the trial qualification limit, which is highly valued at the WC!The entire club congratulates him on a wonderful performance and thanks him for his excellent representation.

Expedition Airfresh 2024

On the very first day of the camp, we started with a night training session in the rubble. In the following days, we focused primarily on forest search training and obedience, as the international exams are approaching and there’s still plenty of room for improvement in these skills.
