Thanks to the public holiday, we were able to kick off our regular training camp on Thursday evening. Friday morning was dedicated to the final motivational training sessions before Saturday’s upcoming exams. In the afternoon, we were visited by a professional and very kind photographer from AlexTennant Photography. As luck (or mischief) would have it, the typical April weather had its way with us, and it rained the entire afternoon. Luckily, the photographer wasn’t discouraged and worked full throttle, taking one shot after another. The results are beautiful — we wholeheartedly recommend her with all our paws!
As mentioned, Saturday was all about exams. The handlers came prepared, and except for one unlucky handler, everyone met the qualifying standard.
Saturday evening featured a very engaging and insightful lecture on Mantrailing by Luboš Satora.
In our free time, we swapped dog gear for work overalls and got more things done at our base. Hall 2 now has three new containers, which will serve as another simulation element for earthquake rubble training.
We must also give a big thank you to Pavel Trávníček for the new beds, and to Radek Sedláček for lending us a spray gun and helping us paint more rooms at Rebelka. And of course, a huge thanks to the entire team for their fantastic attitude and hard work.
This year may be demanding due to preparations for the World Championship, but it means we’ll enjoy the years to follow all the more, with the biggest tasks behind us.
