There are moments that inevitably bring back vivid memories of the heartbreakingly short lives of our dogs. Moments that definitively close chapters of extraordinary lives—final moments spent with beings whose actions have forever and irreplaceably engraved them into our hearts. I know that after thirteen years of deep symbiosis, saying goodbye to our canine partners is immensely painful. But the sheer number of shared experiences only intensifies the emotion. Especially between partners whose bond is marked by an extraordinary level of understanding, further adorned with medals from the highest sporting achievements.

Baby Cross Krumbox Czech was born on May 12, 2012, and remained a true partner par excellence to her handler Kristýnka Sedláková until July 15, 2025—a rescue dog fulfilling her wishes even before they were spoken.

Australian Cattle Dogs are among the most suitable breeds for rescue work in general. In Bixi’s case, thanks to an outstanding genetic foundation from her parents Eungella and Cross, she was among the absolute elite from birth. Her exceptional scenting abilities, powered by a tireless herding temperament, combined with equal human talent, made it almost inevitable that her path would be lined with the jingling of various medals. One might mention gold at the 2016 WM in the TOP category, another gold from the 2014 WM in Italian FL, bronze from the WM Asia in Beijing, China, or countless real-life deployments she never declined. Her obedience scores over many trials never dipped below the 90-point threshold.

Yes, this was a deliberate selection of canine genes and an intense partnership between an exceptional dog and an equally talented handler. I'm proud that I, as a breeder, could give my granddaughter Kristýnka a puppy of such quality—one that would forever be her number one, carved into her heart. I’m deeply thankful that she never let me down and gave Bixi the life all our dogs deserve: a happy one, because mere existence is never enough.
